In a move that’s sure to further test relations with China, Donald Trump updated his Facebook status to read “in an open relationship with Taiwan”.

“China didn’t ask my permission to build a military base or devalue their currency, so I’ve decided to formalize my relationship with Taiwan on Facebook,” said a defiant Trump.

Trump was reportedly upset that China’s President Xi Jinping was not on Facebook, as he wanted to unfriend him.

“I can’t see any issue with annoying China,” reasoned Trump. “If they get upset, I’m sure my good friend Vladimir Putin will sort things out.”

At the time of writing, Putin has not accepted Trump’s friend request.
