Looking back on the long, bloody and convoluted way that the Rebels obtained the Death Star plans, Darth Vader is bemused as to why they didn’t simply submit a Freedom of Information request.
As a government body, the First Galactic Empire would have had to comply with the request and delivered the plans showing the faulty exhaust port.
“I suppose our lawyers may have been able to find an exemption,” conceded Vader, “but to be honest they spent most of their time dealing with PI claims from Death Star-related accidents.
“And that’s not to mention the endless settlement agreements for underachieving Imperial officers that I may or may not have force-choked.
“I find their lack of faith in the Freedom of Information Act disturbing,” concluded the Dark Lord of the Sith.
