US actor Kevin Spacey is no longer in The Usual Suspects.
Despite winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, Spacey has been completely erased from the film.
“The greatest trick that we’ll have ever pulled will be convincing the world he didn’t exist,” said a spokesperson for the Academy Awards.
Following allegations of predatory sexual behaviour against him, Spacey is also to be taken out from a new Hollywood film.
His role in All The Money In The World, directed by Ridley Scott, is to be recast and his scenes reshot. The release is expected to go ahead as planned on 22 December.
Spacey was to play oil tycoon John Paul Getty in the film. Christopher Plummer, following on from his success in The Sound Of Music, will replace him.
