A government-funded watchdog has confirmed an alarming rise in incest cases due to the influence of HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Incest has previously been a relatively rare occurrence, usually confined to Ohio and Kansas in the US and Hull in the UK, but since the first series of Game of Thrones there has been a noticeable increase in sexual relations between close family members across the globe.
This is thought to be due to the ongoing sexual relationship between good-looking twins Jaime and Cersei Lannister.
“I think the issue is that the traditional drawbacks associated with incest are social embarrassment and mutated children,” explained a noted psychologist.
“But Jamie and Cersei have shown that it’s possible to rule the Seven Kingdoms and have attractive children in an incestuous relationship.
“OK, so all three of their children are now dead and one was a murdering psychopath, but that’s hardly the point.”
