Having previously promised not to call a snap election, Theresa May has now said that she will continue to call general elections until the Tories get at least a 100-seat majority.

“Let me be quite clear about this,” said May.

“Unless you vote for me, there will be elections every three months until I have complete power to do whatever I want.

“I want a united country behind me and, frankly, it is unpatriotic not to support the Conservative party in these difficult times.”

Recalling her great political hero Aneurin Bevan, the Prime Minister asked, “Do you want to send me naked into the conference chamber to negotiate hard Brexit with all those pesky Europeans?

“I want the country’s full democratic support and I promise you that we will keep having elections until I get it.”
