Hollywood producer Adrian Butchart and screenwriter Paul Tamsay had insisted that Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri be sacked, it has been revealed.
The Foxes’ vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said, “This has been a very difficult decision but we had no choice. The script of the Hollywood film being made about Leicester City makes it clear that we have to get rid of Ranieri.”
The film ‘The Fox and the Hounds’ depicts the rise of Jamie Vardy from non-League player to Premiership winner with Leicester City last season.
“We want Leicester to lure José Mourinho away from Manchester United and the screenplay has them still being relegated at the end of the season,” said writer Paul Tamsay.
“We already have a draft script for a follow up film, ‘The Return of Ranieri’, in which Leicester sack Mourinho when they are relegated and bring back Ranieri. He gets them promoted and they win the Premiership again.”
Jamie Vardy has reportedly turned down the idea of Tom Cruise playing him in the film, declaring that he is too short.
“I would prefer Brad Pitt,” said the Leicester striker.
