After losing the Ashes to Australia, the England cricket team have challenged their opponents to a drinking competition.
“The cricket was just a warm-up,” declared Joe Root.
“The real competition is played in the bar.”
Australia won a convincing victory in Perth, claiming the Ashes with two games still to play; however, the England team’s morale is high.
“We’re flying Stokesy in from New Zealand,” revealed Jonny Bairstow.
“The ECB ban only applies to cricket, not beer-racing. Or bare-knuckle boxing, which we usually play later.
“We’ll do our country proud.”
