Prime Minister Theresa May will visit Saudi Arabia today and ask the Saudis not to use the weapons that the UK have sold them.
Britain has sold billions of pounds worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia over the last few years but Theresa May says that they didn’t think they would actually fire them.
“We thought that they would just use them for parades but it turns out that they are firing them at real people,” said a bemused May.
The Prime Minister will have a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and say that although the UK enjoys getting all the replacement business, it would be best if he held off for a while.
“I will speak to him quite firmly and say that if he must fire off the weapons, please do it in an empty desert rather than at the people of Yemen,” confirmed May.
