Theresa May has announced that the Brexit “divorce bill” will cost approximately one bitcoin by the time that Britain and the EU reach an agreement.

The bill for the UK to leave the EU is currently estimated at £50bn.

“After we finish chatting about all of this, I think that one bitcoin should cover the costs,” explained the Prime Minister.

“Jeremy Hunt says that the NHS is a little over-budgeted, so I’ll probably take it from there.”

The bitcoin cryptocurrency has been on a dramatic rise and has recently broken the $15,000 mark for one unit.

The Winklevoss twins, who are known for suing Mark Zuckerberg regarding the invention of Facebook, became the first ‘bitcoin billionaires’ a few days ago.

The entrepreneurs are rumoured to throw a spanner in the works of the Brexit negotiations.

“I’m pretty sure we invented Brexit,” said Cameron or Tyler Winklevoss.

“Yeah! I remember, we were warming down after rowing practice and we were all like what would we call it if Britain ever left the EU,” agreed the other one.

“We’ll see you in court.”
