Blackpool is to become the “new Benidorm”, according to pro-Brexit politicians and travel agents who aim to cater to Britain’s package holiday market.

All-inclusive holidays from the UK to Spain will be much more expensive this summer, as a result of the fall in value of the pound against the euro, so British seaside resorts are eyeing new opportunities.

“We need to make tourists feel at home, as if they were in the Costas,” announced a Blackpool Tourism spokesperson.

“We’ll be encouraging seafront cafes to offer authentic Spanish all-day British breakfasts as well as exciting fusion food, such as fish ‘n’ chips paella.”

Nigel Farage is in full support of this marketing campaign and has already scheduled a working holiday to Blackpool with his housemate, French politician Laure Ferrari.

“Brexit will mean a return to those glorious UK summers of yesteryear, and I for one can’t wait to show Laure the Big Dipper.”
