The BBC have announced the return of Doctor Who and the fanboards are abuzz with the controversial news of the show’s first ‘gender-fluid’ Dalek.

With Peter Capaldi stepping down from his role as the time-travelling doctor, the show’s producers announced that they needed to “spice things up a bit” to keep fans interested.

However, there has been some outcry that they have gone too far by introducing a villain who identifies with both genders and will keep the doctor guessing as to the correct pronoun to use when addressing the extraterrestrial robotic mutant.

“I identify as both male and female,” is the new Dalek’s introductory line.

“Do not attempt to box me in. Especially near any stairs.”
