The DUP leader Arlene Foster is set to replace Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary in a deal done by Theresa May to rescue the Brexit negotiations.

“I have been in discussions with Mrs Foster and she drives a hard bargain,” said the Prime Minister.

“Arlene is an experienced politician and will make a great Foreign Secretary.”

The DUP leader was interviewed on her way to London for talks with May.

“The only way that we will accept the Brexit deal is if I am Foreign Secretary and can have my say in the Cabinet,” said Foster.

Boris Johnson was typically candid on the matter.

“I was fed up with all the travelling anyway,” said Johnson.

“Now I am free to criticise the Brexit negotiations, which are a complete shambles.”
