Theresa May has told UK pensioners that they already agreed to the so-called dementia tax when she visited them for a cup of tea last week.

The Conservative Party’s manifesto states that any pensioners with assets over £100,000 will have to pay for their own social care, with the government recouping costs via ‘equity release’ after their deaths.

“Don’t you remember? I came round to your flat and we played backgammon for hours,” said the Prime Minister.

“Then you agreed it was a corking idea and that you’d definitely vote for me in the general election.

“You dotty old dears!”
