Research has shown that 95% of cyclists say that they wouldn’t dream of going out on their bikes if they couldn’t wear brightly-colored spandex.

The report featured Darren and Lucy Thomas, who go cycling every weekend with their 8-year-old daughter, Lycra.

“Wearing brightly-colored spandex makes us feel part of a community,” said Lucy.

“When we were on holiday in Cornwall, we saw a couple out cycling not wearing any spandex at all. They were obviously not proper cyclists, as they weren’t even wearing helmets.”

“People like that don’t even try and fit in,” agreed Darren.

“They were ostracised by other cyclists and quite right, too. Personally, I would ban people from cycling if they didn’t wear spandex.”
