Two children were arrested at the weekend for trading Pokémon cards without a permit and have been fined £150.

“The two 8-year-olds were seen trading cards without the correct license,” said Bob Worth, a Tower Hamlets enforcement officer.

“This is against regulations. We allow children to swap cards but once money changes hands they need a permit.

“Our surveillance cameras clearly picked up 20p being offered for one of the cards.”

Jake said his friend had a card that he really wanted.

“I had just given him one of my cards and 20p from my pocket money when this man came up and asked if I had a license,” explained the 8-year-old.

“I didn’t know what he was talking about so he said my dad would have to pay a fine of £150.”
