Donald Trump has refused to release records showing his real number of Twitter followers, leading many to believe that the majority are fake.
The President-elect consistently brags about having 17.3 million followers but has released no evidence to support that they are genuine accounts.
“I’m a Twillionaire. That’s all you need to know.”
This caginess has caused several social media experts to hypothesize that Trump actually has much fewer bona fide followers than he alludes to.
Much of this controversy has stemmed from the fact that Trump’s father gave him “a small loan” of 14M followers when he first joined Twitter, many of whom have unfollowed him over the years.
However, Trump maintains that he has a self-made account.
“I grew it all myself.”
