Donald Trump has announced that he would like Jimi Hendrix’s incendiary recording of The Star-Spangled Banner to be played at his inauguration next year.
“I stated in my victory speech that I want to be the President for all Americans; that is so important for me,” said Trump, who will become the 45th President of the United States on January 20th, 2017.
“Jimi Hendrix is an American hero,” continued the President-elect, “and his interpretation of The Star-Spangled Banner is iconic.”
“What better way to unify our great country than to play Jimi’s version of our national anthem at my inauguration?”
“The spirit of Woodstock lives on,” said a Trump spokesman.
