Bill Clinton will deliver the keynote speech at Donald Trump’s Presidential inauguration in return for a “sizeable” donation to the Clinton Foundation, it has been announced.
After agreeing to attend the ceremony, the Clintons then confirmed that it would make financial sense for one of them to be working and practical sense for it to be Bill.
The Clintons have made more than $153 million in paid speeches from 2001 up until Hillary ran agains Trump in the Presidential election, with Bill usually charging an average of $250K per speech.
This fee would eclipse the $100K that Trump paid the couple to attend his 2005 wedding to the soon-to-be first lady, Melania Knauss.
When asked about the theme of his address, Clinton indicated that Trump was in for a ribbing.
“I’ll crack a few jokes about his golf game, of course. He won’t get off lightly.
“But in the end, I’ll make it clear that the best man won.”
