Donald Trump has defended the right of the Speaker of the House of Commons to ban him from speaking to the Houses of Parliament during his state visit later this year.
“I know a thing or two about bans and John Bercow is well within his rights to say that I can’t address Parliament,” said the President.
“When I found out that my pal Nigel Farage wouldn’t actually be there, I lost interest. Apparently, Nigel isn’t even an MP so I’m not sure why he keeps coming over to see me.
“To be honest, I’ve got a game of golf planned with Prince Andrew at Trump Turnberry and I’d rather be doing that.”
