A leading political historian has declared that the Conservative Party has always had an affinity for old bags, dating all the way back to Margaret Thatcher.
After former Tory Minister Nicky Morgan criticised UK Prime Minister Theresa May last week for owning £995 leather trousers, it was then revealed that Morgan herself owns a £950 Mulberry handbag.
Morgan claims that the bag was a gift and was over a decade old.
Political historian David Fenchurch states that old bags have been key to the Conservative Party’s success over the past four decades.
“No one should be ashamed of an old bag, least of all the Tory Party.
“The problem is, a lot of these new members are all mouth and no trousers.”
