The Prime Minister has done a U-turn on leaving the EU Single Market after discovering that the 2015 Conservative Party manifesto was in favor of it.
The manifesto clearly states:
“We are clear about what we want from Europe. We say yes to the Single Market. We benefit from the Single Market…and we want to expand the Single Market.”
“I never bothered to read the manifesto at the last General Election but Philip Hammond pointed it out to me when he was checking on the National Insurance pledge we made,” explained the Prime Minister.
“So we came to a deal. He would agree that he cocked up on the tax pledge and I would say we should stay in the Single Market.”
