Following the historic announcement that Saudi women will finally be permitted to drive cars, the country’s Women’s Rights campaigners have set their sights on a new goal.
“We are delighted with the recent announcement,” said a spokeswoman for the campaign.
“We think the time is right to pursue the right to leave the home.”
The Saudi Royal Family has responded with reticence.
“We’ll have to take a careful look at this,” said a spokesperson for King Salman.
“We’ve put it high on the agenda for the next Women’s Requests and Miscellaneous meeting, which will be held in 2067.”
