Ryanair have announced the introduction of a passenger-weighing scheme that they are calling ‘Pound 4 Pound’, which starts on April 1st.
“Passengers will be weighed at the Departures Lounge and the cost of their ticket will reflect their weight,” said a spokesman for Ryanair.
“Our slogan is ‘The less you weigh, the less you pay’. It makes perfect sense.
“The good news is that our staff will be selling food on the flight and passengers can eat as much as they want as soon as they get on the plane. They won’t be weighed again until their return flight.
“Passengers who get food poisoning on holiday will really benefit, as they will probably weigh less on their return and so their ticket will be cheaper.”
