Russia has been banned from participating in any festive games this Christmas after its plans to hack, spy and bug its way to victory were uncovered.

The CIA revealed “unassailable evidence” of a concerted plot to influence the outcome of a multitude of family activities, including charades, Risk and Trivial Pursuit.

One plot included a conspiracy between North Korea and Russia to deliberately draw badly in Pictionary in the event that either one is paired with America.

NATO helped to coordinate the operation and earlier announced the discovery of a cache of extra scrabble letters in Siberia, which included blanks.

These are believed to have been destined for a Boxing Day clash between Russia and Ukraine.
