UKIP leader and candidate in the Stoke-on-Trent Central by-election Paul Nuttall has announced that he used to play football with Stoke legend Sir Stanley Matthews.
With the Stoke by-election only days away, Nuttall surprised voters by stating that Stanley Matthews was his footballing hero and he had played many games with him.
“I was a right-midfield enforcer,” said Nuttall. “If anyone messed with Sir Stanley, I sorted them out.
“My dad watched me play every game, just ask him.”
