A pest control professional from Dagenham is being sued by the Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for catching moles and burying them alive.

“Folk don’t like moles messing up their gardens. Moles are pests and I have to dispose of them somehow,” said Tommy Johnson.

“Burying them alive is the easiest method and they don’t feel any pain.”

A spokesman for the RSPCA commented.

“Some people may see moles as pests, but we cannot condone cruelty of any kind.”
