The Daily Mail was in a righteous fury yesterday after the Supreme Court ruled that Brexit needed to be voted on by MPs, as decreed by the “ridiculous” law.
The Mail was angered that the Supreme Court judges had not ignored what is legally required to happen for Article 50 to be invoked.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous that these unelected officials can tell us that something needs to be voted on by our elected representatives, rather than just pushed through by our unelected Prime Minister,” fumed Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre.
“And don’t forget, it’s also undemocratic. The British people voted with a landslide 52%, following a fantastic Brexit campaign of which only 90% was lies, misrepresentations and scaremongering.”
Nigel Farage reportedly removed his Theresa May wig in disgust at the decision.
