Jeremy Corbyn has accepted an invitation to attend Prince Harry’s stag do to celebrate the Prince’s engagement to American actress fiancée Meghan Markle.
“It will be a good opportunity to get to know Harry and William in a social situation,” said the Labour leader.
“As the taxpayer is funding the stag do, I’ll be able to make sure that we don’t spend too much.”
Prince Harry will marry Markle in May next year, so the date of the event needs to be arranged fairly quickly.
“I hope it doesn’t clash with a General Election,” said the Labour leader.
“That would be a difficult choice for me to have to make.”
It is believed that Ant and Dec are organising the weekend and, in order to keep the costs down, it will take place in Newcastle.
“It will be a low-key affair,” said Ant (or Dec), “but it will definitely include a traditional Geordie pub crawl.
“A Channel 4 camera crew will join us to record the activities for posterity.”
It has been revealed that Prince Andrew is unlikely to be invited after he was arrested on Prince William’s stag do in 2011.
“He can’t be trusted to behave himself,” said Harry.
