NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell put to rest any fears of bias in Super Bowl 51 by declaring that he would be delighted if any team from Atlanta ended up lifting the Vince Lombardi trophy.
“People say I have a favorite in this Super Bowl, but even if the Falcons don’t win, I would be just as happy if the Atlanta Braves or Hawks took the big prize,” reassured Goodell.
“Heck I even wouldn’t mind seeing the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets up on the podium.
“Matt Ryan has had an MVP standard season, but Freddie Freeman is equally deserving and I don’t know how Dwight Howard hasn’t got a ring yet,” continued the Commissioner.
Meanwhile, Tom Brady has been practicing his awkward man hugs with a Goodell lookalike all week and Bill Belichick has reportedly requested a career vs. career game with the under-pressure Commissioner.
