Donald Trump is to release his own recording of Shaggy’s signature rap classic ‘It Wasn’t Me’, it has been announced.
Under pressure from a number of quarters, the President-elect hit the studio and lay down some vocals on what he calls a “defining version” of the reggae-tinged pop song.
Many commentators see it as a direct answer to the critics that Trump has faced over the past few months.
“Sometimes my enemies like to throw these wild accusations at me,” said a calm Trump, clearly rejuvenated by his own music.
“But despite the evidence of me allegedly colluding with the Russians coming from a reputable source,” continued the world leader, “and despite there being video evidence of me verbally abusing the disabled and admitting to sexual harassment, one thing is very clear.
“It wasn’t me.”
