Theresa May has declared her predecessor David Cameron’s butler being granted an MBE as a “disgrace” in the latest row over the New Year’s Honours list.
“We hadn’t noticed that Cameron’s butler, chauffeur, gardener and au pair all received honours,” said a Downing Street spokesman.
“We weren’t able to check the nominations properly because all the spare civil servants are working on Brexit.”
Bob Kerslake, a former Whitehall chief, has warned that, “The civil service will not be able to implement Brexit while carrying out its other duties.”
“They are making excuses,” contended Nigel Farage. “We should just leave Europe. Simple.”
