- Boris Johnson has urged the British public to invoke the ‘blitz spirit’ as potential snowfall threatens the UK this weekend.
In an unscheduled contribution to Prime Minister’s Questions, the Foreign Secretary took to his feet and beseeched the nation to “come together with Churchillian gusto” and “resist the dark forces of thunder and bluster and blizzard and blow”.
Johnson continued, “There’ll be sleet on the beaches and in the hills; there’ll be slush on the streets, but we shall never surrender!”
“Johnson was in full swing and gesticulating with what appeared to be a fake cigar taken from his pocket when the PM gently took his arm and asked him to sit down,” remarked one backbencher.
“The house then duly returned to discussing the relative pros and cons of the Swansea bay tidal lagoon.”
