Boris Johnson has apologized for his recent disparaging comments about Saudi Arabia, explaining that he didn’t actually know that it’s in the Middle East.
The British Foreign Secretary criticized Saudi Arabia for “puppeteering and playing proxy wars”.
“At Eton, we had the choice of learning either Latin or Geography and, well, I thought that Latin would be a bit more useful,” Johnson stated.
“Consequently, my knowledge of where countries are in the world is a little sketchy.”
Prime Minister Theresa May has just returned from the Gulf and was quick to slap down the Foreign Secretary in a public briefing.
“The Foreign Secretary does not represent the Government’s position on foreign policy.”
